Dear Neighbor/Voter:
I grew up in this neighborhood and lived almost my entire life in Ward 4. I graduated from St. Ann’s and Somerville High School in the 80’s and I have worked in this community since my early teens. You might know me from the neighborhood, as a local businessman, from The Somerville News or even as a former elected member of the School Committee from this ward.
I am running for Ward 4 School Committee as a write-in candidate on November 6th. The present School Committee person failed to hand in the required number of signatures to be placed on the ballot for reelection and as a result, the ballot will be empty for this office. If there is no write-in candidate who is elected on November 6th, there will need to be a special election to fill the vacancy, which will cost the City of Somerville thousands of dollars. I need your vote on November 6th to prevent this.
I will have an example of the stickers I will be mailing to voters and handing out on election day posted here soon.
If you end up in the voting booth without stickers, you can still write in my name. The intent of the voter is the most important factor in this type of election, so please either remember to take the stickers or write my name as best as you can remember in the space provided on the ballot (School Committee).
I care about this community and our school system. I have the experience to get the job done effectively and cooperatively with our other elected officials to ensure the highest possible quality education for every child in Somerville. If you need a ride to the polls on election day or have a question for me, please call 617-293-3853 anytime. I need your vote on November 6th.
Thank you,
James Allen Norton
